Myspace and Facebook Critical Review
Myspace and Facebook are two of the biggest social networking websites, although Facebook has become more popular than Myspace. Myspace was the most popular social networking website in June 2006 until Facebook took over in April 2008. Myspace was created by Tom Anderson and Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg. Myspace and Facebook are great ways to stay in touch with your old friends. You have friends on both these websites that you can request or people can request you. Myspace started off more as a social networking site, but many people changed to Facebook and now Myspace is used more for music. Musicians can put their music on their to get more fans. Facebook is mostly used for social purposes. On Facebook and Myspace, you can create a profile. People that you are friends with can comment on your profile and you can comment on theirs. You can also upload pictures that people can comment on. This keeps you in touch with people in your life. For entertainment purposes on Myspace, you can check out your favorite bands profiles. On Facebook, you can "like" groups of different topics that interest you. For recreational purposes, Myspace and Facebook users can use these websites to communicate easily with the people in their lives, play games, view pictures and videos, as well as many other things. These websites however can be abused. Many people start fights over the Internet that normally wouldn't because it is easier for them to say it over the internet then to someone's face. These sites may also be dangerous because you can meet strangers on it or somebody can pretend to be somebody they are not. Besides this, MySpace and Facebook are great sites for social, entertainment, and recreational purposes.
